Attachments: bodies of C2-T3 + anterior tubercle of C1 –> transverse processes of C3-C6
Actions:
- Unilateral: neck flexion, neck lateral flexion

Rectus capitis anterior
Attachments: lateral mass of the atlas –> occipital bone
Actions:
- Unilateral: head lateral flexion
