• Eductate mother on decreased fetal movements
• Provide written material as back up
• Women are to contact AAU /MGP midwives if concerned
• All telephone calls to be recorded on AKMR9

Describe the assessment of decreased fetal movements?

Answer 3

• Note history - meds, habits, age, medical disorders, hx of previous pregnancies.
• Baseline obs -T, P, R, BP, SpO2 UA
• Palp and measure
• FHR - CTG if >28 weeks
• Give food and drink
• if reactive with normal movement noted - home
• if risk factors present urgent ultrasound for fetal weight, growth and activity, Amniotic fluid index, umbilical artery and fetal morphology
