- Industrial revolution allowed mass production of guns which were advantage over Napoleon who did not find them trustworthy

- Landwher; Army reformation by Hardenburg and Stein in 1807. After defeat at Ulm, they still manage to defeat Napoleon.

- Wellington led the British help, using defensive line of Torres Vedras
- Guerrilla warfare were unpredictable and unable to control by Napoleon
- French supplies drained due to the British defensive line thus the name ‘Spanish Ulcer’
- Defeat inspired more revolt against Napoleon
- Napoleon left to fight at Leipzig which only exacerbated the Spanish ulcer

- 1812
- Napoleon takes 600k men with only 270k actually French
- 60k died from disease before the campaign started
- Napoleon unable to live off the land as it was scored or barren
- The Russians did not engage in battle but instead drew back and allowed Napoleon to come deeper and Russia and suffer the weather and lack of resources
