A
US citizens vote for the electoral college
Each state gets 1 member per member of the congress and member of the senate
Results: a candidate could win the popular vote but lose the electoral vote

A
- Distrust in govt
-Polarisation - election of president -> citizens X informed
-Congress- gerrymandering - Supreme Court- % of Americans rep by senators voting decreases
- State legislators- gridlock and inaction
- Public opinion vs policy
- Constitution- old and outdate and virtually impossible to change
