Deck 1 Flashcards
Mand example
Asking for something you are motivated for.
Student says ‘cookie’ because they want a cookie
Tact example.
Student labels something they can see, hear, smell, taste or feel.
‘What is this’
‘This is a…’
‘What do you see’
Receptive (Listener response) example
Following directions
‘Show me the’
‘give me the’
‘Point to the’
Motor imitation example
Copying someone else’s movement
‘Do this’
‘Try this one’
‘Do what I do’
Echoic example
Repeating vocally
‘Say…’
Copy this sound’
Introverbal example
Answering questions they need to think about.
‘The animal says’
‘What is your name’
‘What does the fire truck do’
Continuous measurement example
Provide reinforcement for every occurrence
What is BIP?
Behaviour intervention plan
Antecedent (ABC) means..
Immediately before
Behavior (ABC) means…
Behaviour that accrued during incident
ABC- C means:
Consequence- What happened directly afterwards.
Example of continuous measurement
‘Count’ Every instance in which a child kicks his chair while he is seated.
Count each instance the behaviour occurs.
Continuous measurement- What is rate?
Frequency divided by the time period.
Continuous measurement- What is duration?
The amount of time from the onset of the behaviour to the end of the behaviour occurring.
Continuous measurement- What is Latency?
Example: Data is collected on the time it takes for the child to follow the instructions when the parent tells them to put their shoes in their room.
Continuous measurement- Inter-response time.
Example: child repeatedly engages in self-injurious behavior by hitting their head and the behavior analyst collects data by starting a timer when the child stops hitting their head and stopping the timer when the child begins hitting their head again.
What is an SD?
This is the instruction set by facilitator.
Latency data collection:
Time elapsed from SD-Response.
‘Touch red’- Touches red.
Frequency data collection is?
The number of times a behaviour happens.
Example: looks up 10 times
Duration data collection:
The time between SD is presented to the time the patient complies.
Continuous measurement is:
Data is exact: Measuring the behaviour every time it happens throughout the day.
(Every time self harm Behavior)
Discontinuous measurement is:
Data is a sample. (Space in between)
‘Teacher looking up and watching certain students at times’
Discontinuous measurement- momentary time sampling.
Behaviour happening at end of interval.
‘Hand flapping on 15 seconds’
Discontinuous measurement- Whole interval.
Behaviour occurring throughout entire interval.
‘Standing start to finish of interval
