Hitler wanted to change the constitution, but to do this, he needed a 2/3. Majority in the Reichstag. If he had this majority he could pass the enabling act allowing him to make laws on his own. The enabling act was passed in March 1933 this increased Hitler’s power, because now he didn’t need permission from anyone else to create laws for the country there for helping him take over

What happened on the night of p Long knives? How did this increase Hitler’s power?

Answer 2

Hitler had to gain complete control within the Nazi party. The essay was Hitler’s private army led by Ernst Rohm. Ernst Rohm Was one of the extreme members of the Nazi party. He believed Hitler take over, should be followed by a second revolution in which the army will be replaced by the SA. Hitler felt threatened by Ernst power and his plan. On 30th of June 1934. Rohm and other members of the SA were arrested and shot. By doing this, Hitler had dealt with the potential opposition within the Nazi Auntie and the support of the army.
