Reasons for Decline
A
-Decline in infectious diseases
-Improved nutrition - McKeown- This accounts for up to half of the reduced death rate.
-Medical Improvements.
-Smoking and Diet - Harper - It is not due to medical improvements it is due to a decline in smoking and improved nutrition.
-Public Health Measures i.e. Better water pipes.
-Other social changes i.e. Decline in dangerous jobs such as mining.
