what is it?
A
inflammation of the tendon sheaths within the first compartment

A
abductor pollicis longus and extensor pollicis brevis

A
pregnancy and rheumatoid

A
pain over radial styloid process at the wrist - radiates proximally into forearm
swollen wrist

A
Finklestein’s test

what is Finklestein’s test?
A
patient makes a fist over thumb and hand is ulnar deviated to reproduce pain

what investigations are used?
A
USS and x-ray to rule our CMC joint OA which can mimic DQ

what is the conservative management?
A
splint, rest, physio, analgesics, NSAID
steroid injections
