0.9-1.8mL
How much anesthetic is used in an MSA?
0.9-1.2mL (1/2-2/3)
How much anesthetic is used in an ASA?
0.6-0.9mL (1/3-1/2)
How much anesthetic is used in a NP?
0.2mL (1/8 or to blanch)
How much anesthetic is used in a GP?
0.2 mL (1/8 or to blanch)
How much anesthetic is used in a AMSA?
1.4-1.7mL (3/4-full)
What is the point of penetration for a PSA ?
MB fold-D to 2nd molar
What is the point of penetration for an MSA?
MB fold above 2nd PM
What is the point of penetration for an AMSA?
1/2 between Middle suture line and free gingival margin, in between the PMs (or D to PM if there is only one)
What is the point of penetration for a GP?
Anterior to the GP foramen
What is the point of penetration for a NP?
Adjacent (either side) to the incisive papilla
What is the point of penetration for an ASA?
MB fold- M of Canine
What teeth/area am I getting numb with a PSA?
All maxillary molars (28% of time MF root not anesthetized)
What teeth/area am I getting numb with a MSA?
both PMs and the MF root of the 1st molar
What teeth/area am I getting numb with a ASA?
Incisors and canine
