a bacterium that causes infections in different parts of the body. It’s tougher to treat than most strains of staphylococcus aureus – or staph – because it’s resistant to some commonly used antibiotics.
It’s a life threatening skin disease that spreads through the bloodstream.
MRSA disease
A chronic condition in which the heart doesn’t pump blood as well as it should.
Congestive heart failure (CHF)
Heart failure can occur if the heart cannot pump (systolic) or fill (diastolic) adequately.
Symptoms include shortness of breath, fatigue, swollen legs, and rapid heartbeat.
A circulatory condition in which narrowed blood vessels reduce blood flow to the limbs.
Peripheral artery disease (PAD)
Peripheral vascular disease is a sign of fatty deposits and calcium building up in the walls of the arteries (atherosclerosis). Risk factors include aging, diabetes, and smoking.
Symptoms may include leg pain, particularly when walking.
