Common dashboard problems

A
  1. data scrubbing - eliminate data so as to fit the point you want to make
  2. unbalanced scaling - scaling manipulated so as to deceive viewer that trend is stronger or weaker than data
  3. range distortion - moving the axis so that it doesn’t start from 0 causing misinterpretation
  4. Visual nonsense - comparing two things that don’t correlate
  5. Incorrect chart - use the correct chart
