DATA MANAGEMENT Flashcards
MEASURE OF CENTRAL TENDENCY (ungrouped data)
It is a single value that stands for represents a group of values in the data set.
•Mean
•Median
•Mode
It is the sum of all values in a data set divided by the number of the values that are summed.
MEAN
x = individual value
n = total number of values
It is the middlemost value in the data set. It is found midway between the highest value and the lowest value in a rank distribution and divides the distribution into two equal parts.
MEDIAN
STEPS IN FINDING A MEADIAN
- Arrange the data from least to greatest
- Locate the middle score
MODE
-It is the value which occurs most frequently or has the highest frequency in the data set.
-UNIMODAL - only one mode
•BIMODAL + two modes
It is the middlemost value in the data set. It is found midway between the highest value and the lowest value in a rank distribution and divides the distribution into two equal parts.
MEDIAN
STEPS IN FINDING A MEADIAN
- Arrange the data from least to greatest
- Locate the middle score
MEASURES OF DISPERSION
-It describe how spread the individual values are from the average.
- Range
- Variance
- Standard Deviation
-It describe how spread the individual values are from the average.
MEASURES OF DISPERTION
- Range
- Variance
- Standard Deviation
It is the difference between the highest score and the lowest score.
RANGE
It is the average of the squared deviation of the values about mean.
VARIANCE
N
population size
x
individual value
u
population mean
x na may line sa taas
sample mean
n
sample size
The square root of the variance.
