What drugs cause neutropenia and neutrophilia?
Neutrophilia - steroids
Neutropenia - clozapine and carbamezapine
What drugs cause thrombocytopenia (low platelets)?
Penicillamine
Heparin
Warfarin + major bleed management
Stop warfarin
Give 5-10mg IV vit K
Give prothrombin complex
Target INR on warfarin for most people
2.5-3.5
INR 5-8
- no bleeding
- minor bleeding
INR 5-8
- no bleeding: omit warfarin for 2 days then reduce dose
- minor bleeding: omit warfarin and give 1-5mg of vitamin K IV
INR >8
- no bleeding
- minor bleeding
INR >8
- no bleeding: omit warfarin and give 1-5mg PO vitamin K
- minor bleeding: omit warfarin and give 1-5mg of vitamin K IV
Hyponatraemia causes
Carbamezapine
Thiazide-like diuretics e.g. furesomide
Loop diuretics
