Ethics = Moral principles that govern a person’s behaviour or the way in which they conduct an activity.
- Guide us to make best choices that contribute towards common goal of all.
What are digital ethics?
Digital Ethics = How one should handle data and new technology in a responsible manner.
- Goes beyond the questions of what is within legal boundaries.
What are ethics of Data?
- How we generate, record, use and share data in a responsible manner.
What are ethics of Algorithms?
- How we interpret data via A.I., machine learning and robots.

- Devising responsible innovation and professional codes to guide science.

- Ownership.
- Transparent.
- Privacy.
- Intention.

What is Ownership in principles of data ethics?
Each person has ownership over their data, and it is unethical to collect someone’s personal data without their consent.
What is Transparency in principles of data ethics?
People have the right to know how you plan to collect, store and use their data (e.g. accepting or declining cookies).
What is Privacy in principles of data ethics?
With Personally Identifiable Information (PII) data you have collected, don’t publish it without consent.

What is Outcomes in principles of data ethics?
- Even when the intentions of data are good, the outcomes of data analysis can cause inadvertent harm to individuals or groups of people (DISPARATE IMPACT).
