EMERGENCY SHUTDOWN
- POWER lever – FLT IDLE.
- Condition lever – FUEL SHUTOFF.
- PULL FUEL OFF handle – Pull.
SMOKE & FUMES ACTIONS
- Crew oxygen masks & goggles – 100% and On.
- ICS switch – MASK, establish communications.
= 3. DOME light switch – ON.
= 4. EMER LTS switch – ON.
= 5. FASTEN BELT switch – ON.
ENGINE MALFUNCTION BEFORE V1
- POWER levers (4) – DISC.
- Braking – As required.
- Reverse – As required.
ENGINE MALFUNCTION AT OR AFTER V1
= 1. POWER levers (4) – Maximum available.
= 2. LANDING GEAR (after positive rate of climb) – UP.
3. Airspeed – Climb at V2.
= 4. Confirm – Autofeather, no fire.
If engine failure, no feather.
= 5. Condition lever (failed engine) – FUEL SHUT OFF.
After commencement of third segment, Minimum 400’ AGL.
- Airspeed – Accelerate to Vclimb.
= 7. FLAPS (On Profile) – Select Up.
= 8. EMERGENCY SHUTDOWN (affected engine) – Complete.
= 9. EXTG switch – (if required) FWD BTL. (Wait 30 seconds – if fire persists – EXTG switch – AFT BTL.)
ENGINE MALFUNCTION OR PRECAUTIONARY ENGINE SHUTDOWN DURING FLIGHT
= 1. SYNCHROPHASE switch – OFF.
2. Power – As required.
= 3. Affected Engine – Identify.
= 4. EMERGENCY SHUTDOWN (affected eng) – Complete.
TWO ENGINES MALFUNCTION OPERATIONS
- Condition levers (FWD 3) – MAX RPM.
- Power – Maximum Available.
= 3. Complete appropriate memory items / checklist for second engine malfunction
TWO ENGINE GO-AROUND OR MISSED APPROACH PROCEDURE
- POWER levers (4) – Maximum available.
- LANDING GEAR – UP.
= 3. FLAPS – Up.
= 4. Airspeed – 118 KIAS. - Bank angle – 30 degrees maximum.
ALL ENGINES INOPERATIVE
- Airspeed – 1.3 Vs
OVER TEMPERATURE (OTHER THAN STARTING)
If T5 exceeds 800 degrees C and cannot be controlled by reducing the power lever:
ENGINE MALFUNCTION OR PRECAUTIONARY ENGINE SHUTDOWN DURING FLIGHT checklist – Complete.
ENGINE NG OVERSPEED
= 1. SYNCHROPHASE switch – OFF.
= 2. POWER lever (affected engine) – FLT IDLE.
If there is no response to power lever movement:
= 3. PULL FUEL OFF handle – Pull.
Below 1,500 FT/LB Torque:
= 4. Condition lever (affected engine) – FUEL SHUT OFF.
ABNORMAL OIL PRESSURE
If Engine OIL PRESS is confirmed below 75 PSI:
= 1. Complete ENGINE MALFUNCTION OR PRECAUTIONARY ENGINE SHUTDOWN DURING FLIGHT or land as soon as practicable using minimum power on that engine.
PROPELLER OVERSPEED
= 1. SYNCHROPHASE switch – OFF.
2. POWER lever (affected engine) – FLT IDLE.
3. Airspeed – Reduce.
= 4. Condition lever (affected engine) – START & FEATHER.
If prop does not feather:
= 5. Condition lever (affected engine) - FUEL SHUT OFF
ENGINE FIRE OR SEVERE ENGINE DAMAGE ON GROUND
- POWER levers (4) - FLT IDLE.
- Condition levers (4) – FUEL SHUTOFF.
- PULL FUEL OFF handle (Illuminated) – Pull.
- EXTG switch – FWD BTL (wait 5 sec.), AFT BTL.
- APU STOP switch – Press for 1 second (if applicable).
- Notify ATC and crew of impending evacuation.
- Master BATTERY switch – OFF.
- DC EXT PWR switch – OFF (If applicable).
- Evacuate aircraft.
ENGINE FIRE OR SEVERE ENGINE DAMAGE IN FLIGHT
= 1. SYNCHROPHASE switch – OFF.
2. Power – As required.
= 3. Affected engine – Identify.
= 4. EMERGENCY SHUTDOWN(affected engine) – Complete.
= 5. EXTG switch – FWD BTL, (wait 30 seconds) if fire persists – AFT BTL.
APU FIRE OR SEVERE ENGINE DAMAGE
- APU FIRE PUSH switch light – Press for 1 second and release.
- APU ON indicator – Not illuminated.
If APU FIRE PUSH indicator is still illuminated:
- APU FIRE BOTTLE switch – Activate.
- Master BATTERY switch – OFF.
- DC EXT PWR switch – OFF.
- APU DC GEN ON switch – OFF.
- Evacuate Aircraft.
ABNORMAL OIL TEMPERATURE
If Engine OIL TEMP remains above 99 degrees for more than 15 minutes:
= 1. Complete ENGINE MALFUNCTION OR PRECAUTIONARY ENGINE SHUTDOWN DURING FLIGHT checklist or land as soon as practicable using minimum power on that engine.
FIRE DETECTION SYSTEM FAILURE
= 1. DETECTOR LOOP switch – Select Non-Illuminated Loop Position
= 2. Fire Warning Test – Conduct.
** CHECK FIRE DET caution light and either LOOP A or B advisory light illuminates indicates a fault.
FIRE IN AFT BAGGAGE COMPARTMENT, FLIGHT COMPARTMENT, IN CABIN, UNKNOWN SOURCE OF SMOKE, or ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SMOKE OR FIRE IN FLIGHT
- SMOKE & FUMES ACTIONS checklist – Complete.
RIGHT DC BUS FAULT
= 1. DOME light switch – DOME.
= 2. PANEL LIGHTING circuit breakers (8), center ovhd panel – Pull.
**DC BUS followed by: SEC INV, AUX INV, R STALL WARN, #3 DC GEN, #4 DC GEN, PITOT HEAT caution lights on.
PRIMARY INVERTER FAILED
= 1. 115V BUS TIE circuit breaker (2nd row right ovhd panel) – Pull.
SECONDARY INVERTER FAILED
= 1. INV SEL switch – R BUS.
= 2. 115V BUS TIE circuit breaker (2nd row right ovhd panel ) – Pull.
AUXILIARY INVERTER FAILED
= 1. 115V BUS TIE circuit breaker (2nd row right ovhd panel ) – Pull.
TWO INVERTERS FAILED
= 1. DOME light switch – DOME.
= 2. PANEL LIGHTING circuit breakers (8), Center ovhd – Pull.
ROLL AXIS JAM OR MALFUNCTION -
CONTROL WHEEL IMMOVABLE
- Autopilot – Disengage.
- Call out “ROLL JAM”.
- ROLL DISC T handle – Pull and rotate 90 degrees. Pilot with unjammed wheel has control.
AIRCRAFT ROLLS WITH NO CONTROL WHEEL INPUT
- Autopilot – Disengage.
ROLL SPLR SWITCH LIGHT IS ON
- Autopilot – Disengage.
2. ROLL SPLR switch light – Push.
ELEVATOR CONTROL JAM IN FLIGHT
- Autopilot – Disengage.
- Control column – Apply pressure, call out “PITCH JAM HELP”.
- Airspeed and flap setting – Maintain.
= 4. Control column – Apply pressure against jam.
If jam persists, relax control column force momentarily.
- PITCH DISC T handle – Pull and rotate 90 degrees.
- Pilot with free control column flies aircraft.
EMERGENCY DESCENT: NO STRUCTURAL DAMAGE INVOLVED
= 1. SYNCHROPHASE switch – OFF.
- POWER levers – FLT IDLE.
- Condition levers – MAX RPM.
- Airspeed – Vmo.
EMERGENCY DESCENT: STRUCTURAL DAMAGE INVOLVED
= 1. SYNCHROPHASE switch – OFF.
2. POWER levers – FLT IDLE.
3. Condition levers – MAX RPM.
4. Airspeed – 124 KIAS.
= 5. FLAP selector – Select 15 ( Below 147 KIAS).
= 6. LANDING GEAR handle – DN (Below 147 KIAS).
= 7. FLAP selector – Select 25 (Below 124 KIAS).
FAILURE OF ANY ONE TRAILING FLAP SEGMENT TO RETRACT FROM 45 degree TO 25 degree POSITION
- Airspeed on go-around – 98 KIAS maximum.
AILERON TRIM TAB RUNAWAY
- Autopilot – Disengage.
RUD 1 or RUD 2 SWITCH LIGHT ILLUMINATION
- Autopilot – Disengage.
RUDDER TRIM ACTUATOR RUNAWAY
- Autopilot – Disengage.
CABIN PRESSURIZATION LOST WHEN OPERATING ABOVE 10,000 FEET
If CABIN PRESS caution light is on:
- Crew oxygen masks – 100% and On, Establish communications.
