DASH-1 TEST Flashcards
What is the ICAO code of T-17?
MFI-17
What is the wing dehidral?
1,5 degrees
What is the wing sweep forward?
5 degress
What construction i T-17?
The fuselage is a light semi-monocoque construction.
What is the fire wall made off? Which loads does it carry?
Stainless steel. It carries the loads from the engine mount and the nose gear.
Which loads does the lower beam absorb?
The lower beam absorbs the loads from the wing struts, main landing gear and safety harness.
Where is the main spar located? What profile is it?
The main spar is located at 30 % of the mean aerodynamic chord. It is an extruded I-profile.
Where is the rear spar located? What profile is it?
The rear spar is located at 75 % of the mean aerodynamic chord. Is a bent-up C-section.
What is done with the fuselage to avoid “oil canning”?
The fuselage panels are slightly curved to avoid “oil canning”
Which positions can the pilot seats be adjusted into”?
From Full aft/Full down to Full forward/Full up
What is the shoulder harness stressed for? Where is it attached?
20 g attached to the primary structure
Is the rear door lockable from the inside? Can it be opened during flight?
Yes and yes ( max 70 knots opening and max 100 knots when open)
What fuel is the engine powered by?
Avgas 100LL aviation grade fuel (F18)
Where is the fire detector located?
In the engine compartment through the right hand rear baffle plate
State propeller used by T-17?
Hartzell two-blade constant speed propeller
How is coarse pitch maintained?
By a mechanical device comprising counterweights which are acted upon by centrifugal force
How is fine pitch maintained?
By means of oil pressure
What happens is case of total oil pressure loss?
The propeller blades move into coarse pitch (thus preventing engine over speed)
Which fuel pumps are incorporated in the fuel system?
An engine driven diaphragm fuel pump and an electrically driven auxiliary fuel pump
What happens to the manifold pressure and RPM when opening the throttle?
Manifold pressure increases, RPM may increase
What is the range of the propeller control detent?
2500 RPM - 2700 RPM
What does clockwise movement of the friction lock do?
Increase friction
What happens if something is blocking the air intake?
The air is automatically drawn from the engine compartment (the alternate air intake is used)
What does the starting system consist of?
A 24V electric motor
What is unique for the left hand magneto compared to the right hand magneto?
It employs an impulse coupling to obtain the retarted spark necessary for starting
How is pressure distributed to the MP indicator and from where?
Via a hose from the engine
From where does the fuel flow indicator receive fuel pressure and reference pressure?
From the fuel divider bracket
How is the RPM indicator driven?
Mechanically through a drive shaft driven by the engine
How is oil pressure distributed to the oil pressure indicator?
Via a restrictor and a hose from the engine
Where is the cylinder head temperature picked up?
No. 3 cylinder head
From where does the EGT indicator receive information? What happens to the indication during VHF-AM transmissions?
The exhaust stack of cylinder no. 3. The indicator will show a false value caused by radiation
Describe the oil system?
The system is a full pressure, wet sump lubrication system, operated by a pump
Where is the oil cooler mounted?
On the RH side of the fire wall
Where is the oil separator tank installed? what is it’s function?
On the fire wall. Used to recover oil drained during negative g-loads
Where is the oil temperature transmitter located?
In the full flow oil filter adapter
Where is the fuel filter located?
On the fire wall between the fuel selector and the fuel pump
Describe the alternator? How many volts? Output?
Engine driven 28 V. MAX 28,7 volts at 70 amp
Describe the battery? Where is it located?
24V, 11AH. Mounted in the avionic compartment
What does volt/ammeter indicate?
The actual generator load
Where is the EGT fuse located?
Next to the EGT instrument
Which fuses are located in the avionic compartment?
Three fuses for the attitude indicator and one for the VHF/COM #2
State warning/caution light in the order of the instrument panel?
Canopy, Generator, Fire engine, Oil pressure
When will the canopy warning light illuminate?
When the canopy is unlocked and the BAT switch is on
When will the generator light illuminate?
Below 25 V +/- 0,5 V
When will the fire engine warning light illuminate?
At 275 degrees
When will the oil pressure warning light illuminate?
Below 6,5 PSI +/- 2,0 PSI
When will the stall warning horn sound?
5-10 knots above stalling speed
What type of landing gear is the T-17 equipped with? Where is it attaché to?
Fixed tricycle. Attached to the main bulkhead and the floor structure
Where is the nose gear attached to?
The engine mount and the fire wall
What kind of brakes are on T-17? Where is the hydraulic fluid container located?
Disc brakes. On the left hand side of the fire wall
Mention the pressure instruments?
Airspeed indicator, VVI, Altimeter
