Q

why is friendship more powerful than kinship?

A

kinship is in surplus, we do not choose our family, it can also exist without goodwill. friends are selective, exist only with goodwill and exist in very few.

Q

according to allen, why is friendship particularly well-placed as a model for developing the habits of good citizenships?

A

we value friendships and relationships and not simply meeting to eat, we love being social with others. This is why we made the society we live in today. it is a well model because friends oblige reciprocity which develops a system of trust and agreement.
