What are the two types of causation?

A

Factual causation - Idea that the breach of duty has caused the injury or damage being claimed

Legal causation - Whether the injury or damage suffered was reasonably foreseeable

A

The ‘but for’ test - if it were not but for the defendants act or omission, the injury or damage would not have occurred
