Daily / Turnaround Flashcards
How long is a daily good for?
72 hours or 24 hours after the first flight. (Not to exceed the 72 hours.)
How long is a turnaround good for?
24 hours, not to exceed the daily.
When is an A/C washed?
Every 90 days during SMI.
What’s the chapter in IETMS for the daily/turnaround?
Chapter 5.
How long should you wait to service engine oils?
Within 5-30 minutes after engine shutdown. If oil is added to a cool engine you will over service the engines.
What if you do not service the engines before 30 minutes?
Must do engine turns and service within 5-30 minutes..
When do you stop servicing engine oils?
When you reach the lower fill mark on the gauge.
What type of oil can be use to service the P8-A?
Mobil Oil Jet II, (MIL-PRF-23699), Turbonycoil 600.
Can engine oils be mixed and what’s the reference?
???
Where do you log the oil added?
I’m the oil consumption log in the ADB. In the TA and A-sheet.
What’s required to be lockout prior to opening the engine cowling doors?
Stby hydraulics and leading edge.
What does it mean if fuel drains from the press to test button?
That there is a fuel leak between the inner and outer wall of one or more tanks..
What’s the MLG tire pressure limit?
224 +/- 5.
214-218 inflate to correct pressure
204-213 inflate and cut 24hr monitor maf, if low after 24hr, replace tire.
203-179 replace tire and wheel.
What’s the NLG tire pressure?
208 +/- 5
198-202 inflate to correct pressure.
188-197 inflate and cut 24hr maf. If low then replace tire.
168-187 replace wheel and tire.
How do you check brakes for wear indication?
Set brakes and check the pin indicators are past the guide. If flush or below guide then replace.
How many pin indicators can be missing before brakes ntb replace?
Only one pin can be missing per assy.
What type of WO you initiate if found during a DTA or a TA?
DF maf.
What’s the when discovered code for DTA and TA?
For DTA = J
For TA = K
When are fuel samples required?
Prior to first flight.
How long are fuel samples good for?
24 hours.
Who can sign for inspecting fuel samples?
Shift sup, Qualified Aircrew, CDI, CDQAR.
How many fuel samples points are there on a P-8?
6
If contaminants are present in a fuel sample, what must be done?
Retain the contaminated sample, drain approximately 1 gallon of fuel into bucket and take another sample.
If contaminants are present in the second fuel sample, what must be done?
Immediately notify M/C, initiate a downing discrepancy WO against the A/C and give both samples to QA for inspection.
What are the types of A/C fuel contaminations?
Particulate matter, water, mixed fuel, and micro-organism.
How long after flight, A/C move, or fueling should you wait to perform fuel samples?
Allow maximum possible time before sampling. Should have two hours to allow settling time for water and solids to settle.
What is the 3% limit during fueling?
Air to fuel ratio to allow room for expansion.
How do you transfer fuel using boost pumps?
Turn on the pump in the flight station you want to draw fuel from. Then go to the defueling station and move the handle down. Then go to the refueling station and select which tank you want the fuel to go to. If it’s from the center tank, turn on cross feed and turn on both fuel pumps.
What is the proper PPE used during refueling?
Splash proof goggles and rubber gloves and sleeves rolled down, face shield and apron.
What fuels are used on a P-8 and what are the NATO codes?
JP-5, JP-8, Jet-A, Jet-A1. F-44, F-34, F-30, F-35.
How many fuel tanks are on a P-8?
10 Tanks.
What are the tank groups on the P-8?
Main 1, Main 2, Center, FTG, MTG, and AIG.
