Daily Hope Flashcards
Forgivness
Three reasons why we must forgive
1) Because God forgives you
2) Because resentment is self-tortue
3) Because you need forgivness everyday
Hebrews 12:15
“See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many”
Romans 12:19
“Dont take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: ‘It its mine to avenge; I will repay,’ says the Lord.”
Forgivness VS Trust
Forgivness
- Does not mean the instant restoration of trust.
- Forgivness is instant
- based on grace
- you don’t earn forgivness
Trust
- Must be built over time
- is build on works
- you earn it
Do we forgive because it’s the fair thing to do?
No, It is not about justice. It’s about grace. You forgive a person becuase it’s the right thing to do not fair.
Prayer of forgivness
“Father, only you understand how much I’ve been hurt by these people. I don’t want to carry the pain for another second. I don’t want to be a bitter person. But I need your grace and the power of the cross to release my hurt and to forgive those who’ve hurt me. This is the turning point. First, I need to experience your forgivness. You know all the ways I’ve hurt others, and I’m so sorry for my sins. Jesus, Thank you for dying for me. I accept your grace and forgivness, and I need it daily. Today I’m turning to you, and I’m choosing the way to forgive the way you have forgiven me. Every time the memory comes back, I’ll forgive them again until the pain is gone. Heal my heart with your grace. In Jesus’ name. Amen”
Hebrews 4:15-16
“Jesus understands our weaknesses, for he faced all the same temptations we do, yet he did not sin. So let us come boldly to our gracious God and then we will recieve his mercy and grace to help us when we need it”
Psalm 50:15
“Call on me in the day of trouble, I will deliver you, and you will honor me.”
How do you get to know God?
1) Open your life to Jesus Christ. Say,” Jesus Christ, I want to get to know you. I want to learn to love you the way you loved me, even before i knew it.I want to have a relationship with you.” You were made for a relationship with God- not a religion of fear, rules, regulations, and rituals but a relationship where you talk to God all the time and he speaks to you. That is the antidote to your deepest loinliness.
2) Join a small group where other people can get to know you and where you find the support network you need when you are going through those tough times.
No matter which season you’re in, there are four questions you need to ask yourself so you can reap(gather,”harvest”) Gods blessings in the future.
What can you learn in this season of life?
What are the things I enjoy in this season of life?
What is most important for this season?
How can I help others in this season of life?
