A

-work on disease control
-monitor animal populations on detection of diseases e.g. swine fever
-they have a service Pig Alert Text notifies pig framers on disease outbreaks

A

-through training and advice
-example as they advise on approved disinfectants to clean animal housing and vehicles
-maintains good biosecurity
-carry out inspections, audits and testing
-ensures farmers comply with legislation
-inspections are less frequent for farms with a quality assurance scheme e.g. Red Tractor or Lion eggs
-give training to food producers at CAFRE

-attempt to contain the spread of antimicrobial resistance

-detect and manage populations to prevent the spread of harmful pests, prevents the destruction of plant habitats
