When I flip the engine master on, what is getting power?
Engine, Engine Preheat System (glow plugs), Un-feathering accumulator
How does the fire protection work?
Bi-Metal switches, heat at different rates, bend and contact a switch. 260 C and 500 F
When does the L/R Fuel Low warning come on?
When there is 4 +- 1 gal in the tank.
What does the check valve do?
Allows air to enter
What does the relief pressure valve do?
Allows air and fuel to exit
What is the horsepower at 2300 RPM’s?
165.6
What is the horsepower at 2100 RPM’s?
152.3
What does the pressure relief valve protect agains?
Protects against a high pressure
What is the common rail?
High Pressure fuel reservoir that supplies fuel to the injectors
What is the fuel pressure in the rail measured by?
The rail pressure sensor
What does a higher fuel pressure do?
Ensures better vaporization and therefore better combustion.
Where is the high pressure pump getting the fuel from?
The two low pressure fuel pumps
Are the two low pressure fuel pumps always going?
No, only when the fuel pump switch is switched on.
What is the pressure in which the high pressure fuel pump supplies fuel to the common rail?
24500 or 1600 bar
What is a bar in relation to PSI?
14.5
