Q

Warfarin MOA

A

Inhibits function of enzyme for Vitamine K to produce clotting factors. Makes blood flow easier through the veins, blood less likely to clot

Q

Cannot take Warfarin if px has these conditions;

A

Endocarditis, hypertension

17
Q

Oral anticoagulants

A

Inhibits clotting cascade, doesn’t affect platelets. Reduces amount of fibrin formed and clot ability. No increased bleeding problem but increase in post-bleeding hours later
