  1. The government couldn’t get aid to people because they were surrounded by water
  2. $10 billion in damage
  3. All power lost
  4. Capital isolated which shut down the economy
  5. 2.4 million people severely effected

  8. Trees across roads so emergency services struggled to get around

A

No investment into anything to do with preparation or forecasting
There was a rehousing effort but it was only really focused on the capital (Rangoon) so they don’t look destroyed to other countries
