Dutch engineers helped to restore water supplies.
CAFOD spent over £2mn supporting families and helping communities rebuild their lives. Schools were rebuilt, seeds and agricultural advice provided for local farmers.
Improvements were made to the early warning system to increase awareness and preparedness.
