What is Phishing?
A cyber attack that attempts to steal sensitive information by masquerading as a trustworthy entity in electronic communications.
What is a Firewall?
A security device or software that monitors and controls incoming and outgoing network traffic based on predetermined security rules.
Define Malware.
Malicious software designed to disrupt, damage, or gain unauthorized access to computer systems. This includes viruses, worms, trojans, and ransomware.
What does VPN stand for, and what is its purpose?
VPN stands for Virtual Private Network. It creates a secure connection over the internet, allowing users to send and receive data while maintaining privacy.
What is Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)?
A security process that requires two different forms of identification to access an account, adding an extra layer of protection.
Explain Social Engineering.
A manipulation technique that exploits human psychology to gain confidential information, often through deception or pretexting.
What is a Denial of Service (DoS) attack?
An attack that aims to make a machine or network resource unavailable to its intended users by overwhelming it with traffic.
