Give the rule when prescribing drugs for hypertension?
A
First line if they are under 55 or not black give ACE INHIBITORS (LISINOPRIL and RAMIPRIL)
If over 55 then use calcium channel blockers

Explain how LISINOPRIL and RAMIPRIL work, give any side effects of these drugs.

So these drugs are ace inhibitors, they prevent the production of angiotensin 2 and its affects…

What are losasartan and candesartan?
A
They are angiotensin receptor blockers, and prevent the blocking of angiotensin 2 by binding to AT1 receptors.
