CVA syndromes Flashcards
What are the 3 classic CVA syndromes?
- neglect
- pusher
- apraxia
With neglect, what side is usually affected? (what side is considered the hemiplegic side)
- dense L hemiplegia
- flaccidity on L
- absent sensation on L
What side of the brain is usually affected?
R hemisphere
Due to poor trunk control that patients with neglect experience, what position do they assume?

Do pushers have an accurate perception of midline?
No
Do pushers have intact sensation on involved side?
sensation is impaired to intact
Do pushers have safety awareness?
No, they have impaired judgement/ safety awareness
What kind of tone do pushers present with?
