What causes a stroke?

Occurs when part of the blood supply to the brain is impaired due to a clot or bleed in a blood vessel.

Can also be caused by narrowing of arteries through a build up of plaque.

Symptoms of a stroke?

Answer 2

Numbness or weakness in limbs, especially on one side of the body. Sudden confusion, trouble speaking, difficulty understanding. troubles with vision in one or both eyes. trouble walking, dizziness, loss of balance, lack of co-ordination.

Treatments of a stroke?

Answer 3

Thrombolysis- clot busting drug
Thrombectomy- surgically remove the clot
Blood thinners such as aspirin
Surgery to decompress intercranial pressure.
