Cardinal Symptoms of Cardiovascular Disease
Chest pain/discomfort
Dyspnea,orthopnea,paroxysmal nocturnal dyspnea, wheezing
Palpitation, dizziness, syncope
Cough
Fatigue, weakness
Pain/Ache in extremities w/ exertion
Chest Pain of Cardiovscaular Origin
Angina
MI
Pericarditis/endocarditis
Aortic aneurysm
Aortic stenosis
Mitral valve prolapse
Chest Pain of Non-Cardiac Origin
Pulmonary: Pneumothorax, pulmonary embolism, pneumonia
Gastrointestinal: GERD, peptic ulcer, pancreatitis
MSK: fibromyalgia, costochondritis
Angina Pectoris
Discomfort in the chest &/or adjacent area associated with myocardial ischemia but without necrosis
Not complete occlusion to area
Myocardial Infarction
Local arrest or sudden insufficiency of artirial blood supply that produces an area of necrosis in the heart
