epinephrine bolus for:
moderate hypotension
circulatory collapse
- moderate hypotension: 10-100 mcg
- circulatory collapse: 1-3 mg
epinephrine gtt dosage & receptors affected:
low, moderate, and high dose
- low (1-2 mcg/min): beta 2
- mod (4 mcg/min): beta 1
- large (10-20 mcg/min) beta and alpha 1
dose & reconstitution for norepi gtt
1-20 mcg/min
or 0.05-2 mcg/kg/min (4mg in 250 mL)
dopamine gtt dosage & receptors affected:
low, moderate, and high dose
- low (0.5-3 mcg/kg/min): D1
- mod (3-10 mcg/kg/min): beta 1
- high (>10 mcg/kg/min): alpha 1
dobutamine gtt dose
2-10 mcg/kg/min
ephedrine bolus dose
how is it diluted for admin?
2.5-10 mg
dilute 50mg in 10ml or 5ml
phenylephrine bolus dose
50-100 mcg
(double dilute in 10ml)
phenylephrine gtt dose
how is it reconstituted?
0.15-0.75 mcg/kg/min (dont need to know)
mix 10mg in 250 mL
vasopressin bolus dose
how is it reconstituted?
0.5-1 unit
dilute 20 units in 20 mL
vasopressin gtt dosage & reconstitution
what is considered low dose?
0.1-1 unit/min (40U in 100 mL)
low dose: 0.03-0.04 units/min
infusion/loading dose of precedex
dose for awake crani
1 mcg/kg over 10 min, then 0.5-1 mcg/kg/hr
0.1-0.3 mcg/kg/hr
milrinone bolus & gtt dose
bolus: 50 mcg/kg
gtt: 0.5 mcg/kg/min (0.375-0.75 mcg/kg/min)
CaCl dose
250 mg - 1 g bolus over 10 min
glucagon dose
1-5 mg IV
(Nagelhout says over 2-5 min)
phentolamine bolus & gtt doses
how often are bolus doses given?
bolus: 5-10 mg Q 5-15 min (30-70 mcg/kg)
gtt: 1-10 mcg/kg/min
*PPT - for infiltration: 5-15 mg in 10mL*
