GOI plans for addition of Renewable Energy capacity in the country and its plans in the coming 5 years.
- Current renewable energy capacity - 169 GW as of Feb 2023.
- GOI has announced plans to add a total of 250 GW of renewable energy by bidding in the next 5 years (50 GW annually).
- This will help in reching the SDG taarget of reching the renewable capacity of 500GW by 2030.
Committee formed to examine stalled real estate projects in the country.
MoHUA has set up a committee with Amitabh Kant as head for examining stalled real estate projects.
India Justice Report 2022
- Released by Tata Trusts and it ranks states wrt to the delivery of justice for various crimes according to large and mid size states and small states.
- 2022 is the 3rd edition of the report.
- In category of large and mid size states, Karnataka tops whereas UP gets the least rank of 18th.
- In small state category the list has been topped by Sikkim whereas Goa bags the last spot of 7th.

Unemployment rate at 3 month high of 7.8%.

Advanced Pricing Agreements
CBDT signs 95 Advanced Pricing Agreements in 2022-23, highest in a single year since its inception.
CGTMSE in budget 2023-24
F Min in budget annnounced revamping of the CGTMSE from 1st April.
It will be revamped by Rs 9000 cr to enable an additonal Rs 2 lakh cr in collateral free guaranteed credit and hence decreasing the cost of credit by 1%.
CGTMSE has created a landmark by approving guarantee totalling to Rs 1 lakh cr in FY 2022-23.
Women and Men in India 2022
Report by MoSPI-24th edition.
Av Indian women age 15-29 years spends 5.5 hrs in doing unpaid labour whereas for men of similar category the time is 50 minutes.
In case of senior women aged above 60 years the time spend in doing unpaid labour is 4 hours and for men - 1.5 hours.
This report is in lines of Oxfam report which stated unpaid labour done by women (looking after their homes and children) amounts to around 3.1% of GDP.
Interest rate of small savings schemes for Q1FY24.
DEA, MoF has increased the interest rates of many small saving schemes for Q1FY24, which is the 3rd quarter to quarter rate hike.
National Savings Certificate saw the highest rate hike, from 7% to 7.7%.
Interest rate for PPF schemes remained unchanged at 7.1% (this is same since last 3 years).
EU GI tag
Kangara tea got European Union Geographical Indication tag.
Computerization of MPACS in UK
Computerization of MPACS started in Uttarakhand (2 lakh MPACS to be establised : Budget)
UK started computerization of PACS in 30 oct 2021 and as of March 2023 it has completed computerization of all 670 PACS and 370 cooperative branches.
Uk has been awarded 1st position in cooperative sector.
WETO report
World Energy Transition Report (WETO) 2023 report has been published by IRENA (Internation Renewable Energy Agency).
The report says for global energy transition has made progress but it will fall short of the 1.5 C pathway.
Infertility report by WHO
WHO infertility prevalence estimate 1990-2021 says infertility affects 1 in 6 adults globally.
17.5% of the world’s adult population suffers from infertility.

Finland joins NATO as the 31st member which coincides with the NATO’S 74th anniverssary (4th April 1948).

Striving fo rclean air: air pollution & public health in south asia -World Bank report
Concentration of particulate matter (PMM 2.5) are present in large amounts in south asian regions and in some areas (rural) it is about 20 times larger than the World Bank threshold of 5 micro grams per cubic meter.
South asia accounts for the 9 out of 10 worlds most polluted cities.
Bangladesh, Nepal, Inida, Pakistan has also particilated in the Kathmandu Roadmap for increasing air quanlity in the Indo -gangetic plain and himalyan foothlls.
