Sluggish schizophrenia
characterized by a slowly progressive course; it was diagnosed even in a patient who showed no symptoms of schizophrenia or other psychotic disorders, on the assumption that these symptoms would appear later. Political dissidents (‘dissatisfaction with or opposition to the policies of a governing body’) were medicalised and treated as having a mental disorder
Schizophrenia
as disorder characterised by hearing voices (often in 3rd person) they can be monovalent, commenting on what you are doing, can be critical, tell you to harm yourself or other people.
Social Kindling
A cause of the cultural difference from the above study may be because culture may influence determine how people attend to particular perceptions (more specifically voices).

Theory of Mind
ability to attribute mental states such as beliefs, intents, desires, emotions and knowledge, among others, to oneself and to others. Theory of mind is necessary to understanding that others have beliefs, desires, intentions, and perspectives that are different from one’s own.
Individualism
moral stance, political philosophy, ideology and social outlook that emphasizes the moral worth of the individual. Ho and Chiu (1994), value of the individual, autonomy, individual responsibility, individual achievement, and self-reliance were the important components of individualism
Collectivism
emphasize the needs and goals of the group as a whole over the needs and desires of each individual. In such cultures, relationships with other members of the group and the interconnectedness between people play a central role in each person’s identity
Somatization
a tendency to experience and communicate psychological distress in the form of somatic symptoms and to seek medical help for them. More commonly expressed, it is the generation of physical symptoms of a psychiatric condition such as anxiety’
Globalisation
process by which the world is becoming increasingly interconnected as a result of massively increased trade and cultural exchange
bicultural identity
combines their local identity with an identity linked to the global culture
