A

As over half (18 out of 32) of the research studies were carried out in the US and only 5 in collectivist cultures making it difficult to generalise the findings

Why is there imposed etic?

A

It is based on American child-rearing practices and ignores practices in other cultures e.g in Germany it is common practice for independence to be encouraged in independent however they may show IA but it would be desirable for this culture
