A
King Lear (as a man and king) is meant to be secure and confident (in the time)
Being assertive, manipulative, sly and dominant was only socially acceptable for men

A
Showing emotions (especially as a women) meant people assumed you were mad (in the time period)
The only socially accepted portrayal of madness was the fool
‘Mad’ people (aka. Mental illness) were of the bottom of the natural order

A
King Lear dividing his kingdom and responsibility premeturely as he had not died and thus the new crown had not been dictated by the Gods goes against the natural order
