What was the bay of pigs invasion?
In 1961 President Kennedy sent in anti-Castro rebels. This was a CIA invasion and they landed in the bay of pigs. The USA didnt give them air support so they were easily defeated. This meant Castro need soviet military assistance.
What did the U2 spy planes detect in Cuba?
Soviet missiles, it would become a serious threat because Cuba was very close to USA.
How did Kennedy stop Castro and Kruschev?
He created a naval blockade, this meant no supplies could be sent in or out of Cuba. Then kennedy demanded to remove the missiles.
What happened between 1952 to 1959?
Batista was the leader of the Cuba, Fidel Castro tried to overthrow the government but failed. Once released he began a guerrilla war and had enough support to take over the capital.
