The Thirteen Days Timeline (paragraph)

A

On 16 October 1962, spy planes found missiles and JFK shocked, JFK suggest a naval blockade around Cuba. On 24 October 1962, Soviet ships reach blockade and turned around, this avoid direct confrontatation. On 27 October 1962, Khrushchev offering Kennedy to remove missiles from Cuba, only if US remove missiles from Turkey, on the same day an U2 spy plane was shot down over Cuba. Hawks in US wanted millitary action, but Kennedy refused it. Kennedy agreed not to invade Cuba, but pretended to ignore the second telegram. On 28 October 1962, Khruschev removed missiles from Cuba.
