CTT QUESTIONS Flashcards
How do you see characteristics of God the Creator in the bible?
God speaks through us and in us
Shows us how important we are
We are valued and trusted
Some have alleged that Genesis 1 creates tension between faith and science
Explore this relationship by considering the following
1) Which elements of Genesis 1 do you find hard to accept “scientifically” That is which events in this chapter require faith to accept
2) Which elements in evolutionary theory require “faith” to accept?
1) Genesis states that God created the world in 7 days, each day dedicated to something different
-This can be hard to accept scientifically because the world is believed to have been created in a big bang in a short quick moment
2) The evolutionary theory is hard to accept but evolutionary scientists have to put faith in their theory and that the world was created in a big bang rather than a beautiful creation that occurred in only a week
Describe how the events in Acts 2:1-13 work as a reversal of Genesis 11:1-9
In Genesis, they were scattered because of their different languages whereas in Acts they were seen coming together and rejoicing for their cultural differences in languages
Describe the three levels of in Old Testament Narrative
3)) Metanarritive - the whole universal plan of God

Compare and contrast Israel’s encounter with God in Exodus and with Moses’s encounter with God in Exodus

-Both encounters took place on the same mountain
-Both times he gives instructions to follow those throughout their lives
