16
Q

If there are minimal variations in the variability, what should be ruled in?

A
  1. Fetal Sleep (should not be >40 minutes)
  2. Fetal hypoxia
  3. Opioids
  4. Magnesium sulfate
17
Q

Accelerations are defined as?

A

Abrupt increase in FHR by >15bpm for >15 seconds

18
Q

When a fetus is faced with fetal hypoxia, it is unable to increase it’s respiratory rate, so instead what does it do?

A

Decrease in myocardial workload to decrease the oxygen used up by the heart which would lead to decrease in FHR and hence decelerations. Oxygen are being diverted to other vital organs such as the brain.
