what do macrophages do and their sub-types

A

phagocytic cells
they are wandering or fixed
when wound. disease, infection arises they start activity in those areas - wandering
fixed do not move but work where they are

lungs - dust cells
liver - kupffer cells
skin - langerhan cells

A

form b-lymphocytes
- these produce antibodies

all throughout body but especially:
lungs
gut
salivary glands
lymph nodes
spleen
red bone marrow

A

dialate vessels via histamine

are alongside blood vessels
