CSSC Flashcards
Introduce yourself.
I’m Bryant Kenzo Carolino, 19 years old. I’m from Iloilo and I graduated from Assumption Iloilo.
Tell us something you like to do for fun.
I like going to the gym, watching cooking tutorial on YouTube, and reading webnovels. Also, I’d sometimes compare the growth of a channel I follow against their peers, like how many subscribers have they gained over this past month, how many views did they gain over x time, etc.
What are your hobbies?
In my free time time, I like to study the market, specifically the foreign exchange market or “forex”. The thing I like about forex is its highly technical aspect — how making trades heavily rely on numbers and historical data.
Why did you apply for this position? How does it connect with you?
I applied for the position because I’m highly interested in finances. I enjoy working with numbers, especially in terms of money and seeing how it could affect a system— sort of like forex. And I believe that I will be able to contribute effectively to the committee by realizing the skills I’ve learned in personal and business finance, as well as forex trading.
What is your motto in life?
0.001 effort is always better than 0 effort.
Making small steps is better than none at all. Consistent effort yields 0.365 amount of progress, compared to 0 progress by the end of the year. No matter how small your contribution or progress is at the end of the year, it means something.
Tell me about a time you made a mistake at work.
During our mock defense, I mistakenly miscited a source in our presentation. Misciting a literature is a huge mistake in research. Fortunately, I spotted the error while updating the slides, quickly checked the manuscript, and used “CTRL+F” to find and correct the proper attribution.
Tell me about a time you made something new at work.
I noticed that many of my classmates were frustrated by the lack of free WiFi and issues with prepaid load. I saw this as a chance to help, so I started selling prepaid load to them. As the business grew, I began offering additional services like bank transfers, cash-ins, and withdrawals for both students and staff. It was a practical solution that addressed a real need and taught me a lot about managing a small enterprise.
Tell me about a time you collaborated across teams at work.
In school, I often acted as a mediator between my group and others during collaborative projects. When both sides were hesitant to share ideas, I would step in and ask for their input on what might work best. If there was still no initiative, I would propose my own ideas and seek their feedback to move the project forward.
Tell me about a time you resolved a dispute at work.
In our research group, one of my friends consistently missed deadlines for contributing to our manuscript, which caused some frustration. To address this, I personally reached out to remind him of his tasks. If he still didn’t meet his responsibilities, I would give him one final reminder before escalating the issue to our research adviser for mediation.

Why did you choose this position?
I chose this position because I am purely interested in accounting or just the business domain in general. There is just something about seeing how cashflows from account to account, whether as an income or expense. Bookkeeping is another aspect I like because I get to see exactly when, how, from whom, and to where my assests will go.
Do you have any past experiences relevant to the position?
My friend and I launched a small Instagram shop for secondhand clothes over the summer. I handled the financial aspects of the business, while my friend managed content creation and editing.
May further add experience in Entrep and Marketplace.
What is your experience with leading a team? How did you deal with the obstacles you encountered?
I’ve held several leadership roles, including serving as a student adviser for one tribe during intramurals. Managing a large group taught me how to stay calm under pressure and take initiative. I coordinated with teachers advising other tribes, resolved scheduling conflicts, and ensured tasks were completed. Additionally, I made an effort to motivate and cheer on my tribe members.
Why join Tiger Media Network?
I first discovered TMN while searching for official UST pages to stay updated on student activities and events. I was drawn to the organization by their engaging and visually appealing posts, such as those for the Onboarding Fair. My interest was solidified when I saw that applications were open and there was a position focused on analytics and analysis, which aligned perfectly with my skills and interests.
What is your weakness?
I often try to get two things done at the same time, and because of that I would not be able to finish anything at all. Although I have been trying to fix that part of me by disciplining myself and completing the easier task first and then move on.
