How does setting position: relative on an element affect document flow?
Initial position takes up space in the document flow, then offset properties are used to change final position which does not affect document flow.
How does setting position: relative on an element affect where it appears on the page?
position: relative itself does not change where it appears on the page. Once offset properties are applied, the element can be moved from its initial position to anywhere on the page without interfering with placement of other elements.
How does setting position: absolute on an element affect document flow?
setting position: absolute on an element will cause other elements to fill in the space of the absolute element
How does setting position: absolute on an element affect where it appears on the page?
setting position: absolute on an element could change the position of the element on the page depending on the position of its parent (whether it’s non-static or not). If non-static, the element can move to fit the offset properties based on the dimensions of either the nearest parent with non-static position or the body element itself.
