Q

reasons for survival of Crusader States

A

Survival of the kingdom in the early years was precarious and depended greatly on lack of unity in the Muslim world: Crusader rulers formed alliances with various Muslim leaders when it suited them. Relations with the Byzantine Empire deteriorated to the point where the Emperor was actively seeking Muslim aid against the crusaders after being attacked again by Bohemond.
