Background
A
Common in babies and children, Happens after a few days.
- Worse at night

Symptoms
A
Barking cough
Hoarse voice
Difficult breathing
Rasping sound when inhaling

Treatment
A
Fluids Avoid cough mixture - can make drowsy/Prevent cough
Mild - Self limiting But can use Single dose steroid (Betamethasone)
Moderate/Severe/Mild that has complications - hospital admission, Single dose steroid whilst waiting hospital, ALT IM dexamethasone or IM budesonide.
Severe - Steroid FAIL then use nebulised adrenaline Monitor carefully.
