  • Increased work of breathing
    • ‘Barking’ cough, occurring in clusters of coughing episodes
    • Hoarse voice

usually self limitting
single dose of corticosteroid- dexamethssone

  1. Oral dexamethasone - if too unwell to receive oral medication can give IM dexamethasone or nebulised budesonide
    2. Oxygen
    3. Nebulised adrenaline

○ Mild cold-like symptoms (runny nose, cough, sneezing, fever)
○ Wheezing and difficulty breathing in severe cases
Can cause bronchiolitis or pneumonia in infants
