Incrocio Bruno 54

A

Crossing of SB and verdicchio developed by Bruno Bruni in 1936 on 54th try

Le Marche -colli Maceratesi aDOC as a potential blending grape.

Also in a few IGPs in Umbria and Tuscany

Can make high quality wine but little is planted as does not produce many grapes per bunch

Nose like a rich SB, fig, melon, white flowers, but with a creamy mouth feel

Thought he crossed Nebbiolo and Barbera , but really crossed Chatus instead of Nebbiolo 

Deep ruby, with purple tinges
Delicately spicy, and very fruity has strong note of tobacco, full bodied, and creamy texture

Long believed to be a crossing of Riesling and Pinot bianco-but possibly chard instead

Plantings on the rise
