ulcerative colitis location
begins in the rectum and can extend proximally up to the cecum. involvement is continuous. no other sections of the gastro system are involved.

arthritis (peripheral joints, ankylosing spondilitis, sacroilitis, migratory polyarthritis). uvietis, erythema nodosum. pyoderma gangrenosum, primary sclerosing cholangitis, p-ANCA

crohn’s wall involvement
full-thickness with knife-like fissures,
crohn’s location
anywhere from mouth to anus with skip lesions, terminal ileum is the most common site. rectum is the least common.
crohn’s symptoms
right lower quadrant pain (ileum) with non-bloody diarrhea.

lymphoid aggregates with granulomas in 40% of cases.

cobblestone mucosa, creeping fat and strictures. string sign on imaging
crohn’s complications
malabsorption with nutritional deficiency, calcium oxalate nephrolithiasis, fistula formation, carcinoma.
