Critical thinking is primarily the ability to think carefully about thinking and reasoning
Being Curious and thinkink creatively
Seperating the thinker from the position
Knowing onself to avoid baises and errors of thought
Having intillectual honesty, humility, and charity
Understanding arguments, reasons, and evidence
What is an inference?
An inference in critical reasoning is a logical deduction that can be made from the given information in a statement or argument. It is an assumption that is made based on the evidence that is provided.
examples:
if someone presses a light switch but the light does not turn on, they might infer that the filament has burnt out.
if you notice someone making a disgusted face after they’ve taken a bite of their lunch, you can infer that they do not like it.
