Interpreting
Uses to understand an idea that the author uses but not stated exactly
Inferring
Figuring out much more than what the author is stating after the whole text
Drawing Conclusion
Looking at separate and detailed parts of a text to understand the entire piece
Analyzing
Combining ideas to come up something new; like a new understanding
Synthesizing
FACTS: Statements that can be proven true / false by using a reliable source that’s proven
OPINION: Belief / Judgement may be an unverified idea or perspective
Distinguishing Facts from Opinion
Intelligent guesses about what will happen next. Base from evidence from the story, or the reader’s general knowledge
Predicting
Conversational; using a polite tone
Business Letter
