Critical Path Analysis Flashcards
1
Q
Critical path analysis
A
- application of network analysis to the management of a project comprising several activities or tasks
- need to know duration of each activity and immediate predecessors
2
Q
On forward passes
A
On the left hand box, take the larger choice
3
Q
On the backward pass
A
On the right side, choose smaller choice
4
Q
Total float =
A
Late finish - early start - duration
5
Q
Independent float =
A
Early finish - late start - duration
6
Q
Interfering float =
A
Total float - independent float
7
Q
Cascade diagrams
A
- bottom lane = critical path weighted
- if more than one critical path just slap them directly on top
The rest - early start time - early end - late end. On top
8
Q
Resource histogram:
A
Use the cascade chart to count the number of workers needed on each day
Y axis = number of workers
X axis = days
9
Q
Why use critical path analysis?
A
Allow project managers to handle complex and time sensitive operations, and organise scheduling of workers and days
